These poems reflect growing up in the rural area of South Carolina called Alvin. Alvin is located in the Low Country of Berkeley County nestled beside the Santee River. I grew up where everyone worked hard. My childhood has shaped who I am today. I am so humbled by my Southern Experiences. It has taught me to NEVER BE SCARED, I am Deeply Rooted and GOD got me.

As I said in my first book, "An Angry Black Woman", I've been writing poetry for years and finally decided to share my blessings with the world. I am from a small community in SC called Alvin. Alvin is approximately forty-five minutes outside of The Holy City, Charleston. My experiences in life have been many and the struggles can sometimes be real. However, if you live what you believe by being true to yourself the power of positive thinking will prevail and you will find An Inner Peace. This book comes from knowing who I am and what life is about in America. This book gives insight to a few of the Women who have inspired me, it speaks to the joy & pain of love and the Beauty of the World. Embrace who you are but know you never arrive. My book Our Eve Before Christmas, helps me to remember my childhood Christmases full of love, laughter and family. There was always that stranger, that none of us kids knew, but our parents and grandparents knew no strangers.
